Brooks Cabin Super Trip Proposal

The Brooks cabin would be available to Troop One for a super trip.  The cabin is located in Chalk Creek Canyon between two 14,000’ Colorado mountains.  It has its own fishing stream with a fishing lake, hot springs swimming pool, St. Elmo “ghost town,” and numerous hiking trails close by.  The cabin is located in Chalk Creek canyon about 10 miles west of Nathrop, Colorado about two hours from Colorado Springs

The following are suggestions for a schedule for three possible itineraries, a super high adventure with climbing two 14,000’ peaks, a high adventure climbing one 14,000’ peak and an adventure for those not climbing mountains.  The time frame is flexible and can be extended if scouts would like more activities or a “high adventure” needs to match a “cabin adventure.”  If scouts would like to do a service project, that likely could be arranged with the local game warden..
